This 4x10 Chamonix H-1 format changing kit allows conversion of the H-1 to the 4x10 format. The kit includes the 4x10 back, bellows and a pouch case. It takes about five minutes to make the change in either direction. The 4x10 back is a bail back which makes inserting the film holder much simpler. These kits sell for $1340, plus shipping from Chamonix in China. This kit is used, but in nearly new condition. Asking $1025, plus $25 shipping.

What film does the 4x10" back take?

Alan, I haven't done a full web search, but I think the most common way is to cut your own 8x10 film in half in the dark. You may be able to order it pre-cut during Ilford's annual special-order period.

K.B Canham used to (possibly still does) make 4x10 holders.
Chamonix makes 4x10 holders
Shen-Hao might as well.

You can cut 8x10 film in half, or you can buy current-production 4x10 film from Ilford (during the annual ULF order period) or Shanghai. I can't remember ever seeing Kodak or Fuji films sold in 4x10.

Ilford packages it in 4x10-sized boxes, so I would guess/hope that they still sell a decent amount of it.
