I'm surprised so many are cat owners here lol. Do you all happen to partake in cat photography? Id love to see some! Haha

I am not a cat person but own dogs. My favorite breed is the American Staffordshire Terrier which has an unusually short and fine coat. More like velvet than anything else the hair gets everywhere. Regular brushing really helps.

Edward Weston had cats, they must be good for photography.
He had quite a few cats, as do I.

No, they don't improve the quality of my work. :whistling:

Rupert the cat is now rubbing on my leg as I type this.

I have two cats....and a basset hound....lots of hair, I never get hair on my negs though...I do them at work:

you have to admit that the Average employer would have neither the facilities to do negatives nor the Tolerance for an employee who tied to do his or her Hobby stuff on Company Equipment.

If you think you have cat hair problems? Take a look at this. I sweep enough cat hair every week to make a kitty toupe'

Looks like my house when I clean. 4 cats can shed a LOT of fur, especially my Norwegian Forest Cat.

The wife actually brushes the forest cat and spins the fur into thread for knitting.

I'm not sure about shaving the cat as was suggested earlier, I like my hands Thanks.

When the head of a film making outfit freely admits that they are owned by cats, its a wonderful world indeed.

The only way to prevent cat hair sticking to a negative, is to prevent cat hair ever coming in contact with the negative.

Spray the cats with Nair.

Great idea!

That's like making a new cat ever day. Could you use the fiber you collect and maybe knit a new cat?

After a month of knitting, I can become the "Crazy cat guy" with too many cat and cameras

I have decided to become more affirmative toward cat (and dog!) hairs. I have decided they are to be like my signature on the image (so far, the animals don't begrudge me this). It has gone so far that, if I don't see one on the negative, I toss the thing and start over. And I yell at the pets for falling down on the job.

This reminds me when I shot my first medium format film about twenty years ago. I bought a used Mamiya RB67 with 90 mm lens. When I got my film back, each shot had this reddish thin line across them. I thought I bought a broken camera or lens. Then it hit me. My wife's a red head! Nah! Can't be.

So I remove the rotating film back and slide off the dark slide. And sure enough, there's one of her red hairs stretched stuck across the film exposure area where the dark slide plate sits. Well it did add to the composition of each shot.

So when you fart, you blame the dog and the dog blames the cat?

Actually I just blame the cat nearest to me.

Nair....Hmmmmm, that has possibilities!

Cute commercial, lol. No they aren't going to watch that commercial either, I don't want to give them ideas!

If my RV had air conditioning I would just turn that into my ***ital darkroom.
