Is it possible to mount a Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 1.4/50mm lens on a Canon or Nikon DSLR? If yes, which adapter do you recommend?
Thanks!
Interesting. I didn't know there was a 1.4/50mm Biotar. The legendary 2.0/58mm Biotar was quite popular on the old Exakta cameras.

Wait, there is one for the Pentaka 16 which is a 16mm cinematic camera. That one is a 1.4/50 but I doubt the image circle is large enough for 35mm.
If you want to adapt to Canon I suggest getting lenses in Exa mount. They are plentiful, relatively cheap and of good quality.
Exaktas were the standard for quite a while, M42 only became popular when all the digital people discovered how good the old optics are. Cheap as well, at least compared to the optics intended for the systems.

I see! So Sony is the winner. It wouldn't mount on a Canon or Nikon. Sony a7s or any full frame Sony "E" mount I guess.
What kind of adapter do I need for the Sony full frame cameras?
I need a lens which has a M42 mount for Sont E mount, I guess, right?
