Interesting the location to which these services will "transfer" is not mentioned.

It's not impossible that they will move production back to Rochester, subcontracting out to Kodak. There aren't very many organizations left that can coat film and paper.

I believe that this was the site that was contract coating some of the Kodak Colour paper.

The only remaining plant in the recent SinoPromise era, in fact.

Interesting the location to which these services will "transfer" is not mentioned.

Because in all likelihood they won't be transferred. They're terminated. Nothing much seems to have been going on there anyway over the past two years or so.

There's still a bit of a market just not at a price point to justify so many companies, especially with a US plant.

I wonder what the market is for medical X-ray
Developing nations. It may take some time yet before a clinic in rural India can afford a digital x-ray imaging solution. You get the picture, I'm sure.

I don't think the Carestream plant that's shutting down produced x-ray film btw.

other than dental, I wonder what the market is for medical X-ray. Probably still a market for NDT but radiation exposure is not as critical there.

note the comments about market share on this page -- https://www.foma.cz/en/dental

AFAIK, X-Ray films represent the biggest and most important business for Foma. Not standard still photography.

Looking at their site, they do have a detailed page for both Dental x-ray, and NDT films. (industrial x-ray to check things like welds) no mention of "Medical" x-ray, (like for a broken arm)
