I've recently bought some Carestream dev and fix and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for using these! I am wanting to develop 3x rolls of Kentmere 400 and a roll of HP5. I am just nervous about messing it up totally so wondered if anyone had any recommendations for dilution ratio, dev and fix times and the temp you'd recommend for these films.

Would really appreciate any advice!

Hmm, aren't their chems intended for X ray films and designed for high contrast and super short process times.

Welcome to Apug (Photrio)!

Well, the fixer though should be usable. I guess the classic X-ray ones all are acid, Ammonium-based with added boric-acid.

I have to ask, but why did you choose and then buy Carestream branded chemicals?

Just checking out their website, it's overtly obvious that they produce film and chemicals for dental x-rays mostly. There's not a hint about using them with Kentmere and Ilford branded films, or any other mainstream film.

You could email them to ask, but if you are worried about messing up, then I would purchase some new developer at least, that is more suitable for the task, which will also come with processing times etc.

Georgia just due to that thread you hinted at got the idea to use this dental developer. Here she is asking for more details. Which we likely do not have at hand.
