Hello,

I glued a watercolor paper with a gelatin layer to 5% with a coating rod.
I print the Carbon.
When paper is dry carbonl with the image, the paper is not flat, gondola.
I have very difficult thing to get a paper perfectly flat when it is dry.
Have you a method to make the paper really flat?

Thank you for your help

A dry mount press is the way to do it. I also struggled until I found one nearby. Canson Montval and Hahnmule Bamboo Mixed Media warp much less than pure cotton rag papers.

Thank you,

Can you recommend a brand or type of dry mount press
If you have a picture or a link to see the good press to buy ,

Is it possible to use a hot press without damaging the image carbon ?

Thank you for all information

The differential expansion between the paper and the gelatin with humidity is the usual cause for the curl. You can help it a quite a bit by sizing the paper thoroughly with gelatin or one of the commercial sizing materials. It's easy to do, and it only takes a few minutes. Dry mounting will pretty much cure the problem, but many people like to have the paper free of the mount.

It was a small fraction of the new price on the local verson of ebay. They are very heavy. So far I only use mine to flatten prints.
