Hi,
Do you know what paper photographers Carbon Transferl used in 1875 to print the Carbons.
It looks like a very smooth paper such as Bristol or other very fine paper and very smooth.
If you know the history of this paper carbon, thank you for the information.
I am seeking information

A gif of my love wife;
One vintage original Carbon Print of Henry Dixon, 1879, Canonbury Tower of London on this vintage frame.
The photo image measures approximately 7 x 9 inches and the frame 19 x 15 inches.

Paper archaeology is vast , I bet if you can get a list , it would cover hundreds of different manufacturers. And you must narrow your research , there is vast printers from america to japan. Your best friend is to hold the paper to light and finding the watermark from catalogs.
My school library had thousands of pages catalogs to reveal the details of that dutch papers , they all made in small ateliers by hand. I bet you can find a summer course at belgium or holland which teaches hand made paper craft , there are tons of books also.
BUT may be there are modern papers handmade for artists. You can visit a printing press paper seller for special run and take their sample bundles for free. Japan is advanced and there are USA sellers of these japanese papers. I will research and send the links for you at next post.
