The only thing I can help you with is the fact that when I was young, carbide lamps came in two types. One had a mantle like a Coleman lamp and burned brighter and more bluish than the other type which was a plain flame lamp in a reflector.
I've shot a lot of caving using these lamps, and have never filtered for them. I simply let the light glow yellow. I light the cave with strobes, and a long shutter to pick up the carbide glow. Filtering for this type of light will pretty much make it so dim, you won't see it.
