Hello all,

I've been offered a Canonet 17 for €50, with no AE (seems to be due to a broken thread) and, more important for me, what appears like fungi on the inner side of the front lens...

Does this seem like a good offer for the price, or sould I look for something else ?

Additional question : how hard is it to remove the front cell of the lens ?

I'll second Anscojohn,
i got a mint cannonet for under 40 Euro with the leatherette and perfectly working AE, clean lens so yeah
that's a little too much asked.
cheers

I would pass. You can get a Konica S2 and may other good RF cameras pretty darn cheap these days.

Thanks for your answers !! I'll let this one go and look for something else !

I love my canonet, but avoid that one like the plague! Look for another one, there are plenty out there. I bought mine for just a few rolls of film! = $35

I got mine for $25 on the auction site and it's in nice shape. No case, but, hey.

Gosh Laurent why did nt you mention it when you were here? I had one just sitting on the top shelf looking sad and lonely

Get a Canonet that works: 28 or GIII or QL F/1.9

Maybe because I did not know I needed one at this time

Even sadder is that I had no chance to fly to the US again, and had no chance meeting you again !!

At the moment, my Rolleiflex does a decent street camera, even if the kit is a bit too big (OK, I have to admit I carry the camera plus spare film(s) plus meter(s) plus table-tripod plus ....
