This is a Canon Vt deluxe, the second of three versions that were built, a "VTDZ", with the cloth shutter, a 'golden' rangefinder patch and black lettering. The serial number is 549397, it was made between 2/1957 and 12/1958.
Technical condition:
- fully working
- rangefinder is adjusted
- shutter speeds seem to be okay (that's what my last Tmax 100 said)
- shutter curtains are in very good state (both sides)
- the camera is light tight
- One cover ring for the round rangefinder 'window' is lacking.
It comes with the good 2/35mm lens (the "
japanese Summicron"):
The glass is fine, focussing is easy but the focussing ring has a tiny amount of play.
The lens comes with an original Canon 40mm Skylight filter in good state, a no-name clip-on metal front cap and a no-name metal rear cap.
As you can see from the photos the camera looks worse than it works, it's not a collector's item for a display cabinet, it wants to be used.
Asking price is 800 USD (589 Euros) plus shipping from Germany, payment via Paypal.
