I have two TS-E lenses and I think one might want that adapter when using a TS-E lens on a tripod with a body that doesn't have a motor drive, battery grip, or wireless grip on the bottom, and where you can't position the camera far enough forward to prevent the tripod platform from interfering with the lens movements.
