I just found this book in my library at my parents' place.
Has it really become a collector's item ? The only copy I found on the net seems to be offered at an outrageous price.
Depends on what you deem to be outrageous, I suppose. One sold a few days ago on ebay for $45, final bid was placed two days before end of auction. I picked one up for $20 a few years ago, just AFTER I found somebody selling B&W reprints for a little more. <sigh> A fool and his money...
I looked under Camerabook.com and they had for $85 also. Which I tought it a little on the high side. If you ever check out some of the college book stores, some of their prices are outrageous on college textbooks!
The great benefit to reading in the bathroom is if/when you run out of paper.
I keep mine stocked with copies of digital camera brochures and Moose Peterson's articles, just in case.
We used to sell the T90 performance book in my shop for £25 (about $15 US) new in 1986, since then they must have become quite rare in the last twenty three years, I don't think $86 for a good condition copy is too bad considering.
I think $50 for a mint, collectible-grade copy is just pushing the limit. I think $35 for a nice copy, to have and to hold from this day forth, is a decent price. Give it another 23 years and I may concur with $86 for a good condition copy. But then, something is worth what someone is willing to pay. So who am I to say?
