Anyone have any experience using Eneloops to power a T90? I use them in my F5 and while I have no real issues with normal AAs in the T90, I'd like to quit buying the things. I'm just not sure how well the T90 will deal with the lower voltage output of Nimh batteries.

In a semi-official book on the T-90 the use of Nicad batteries is explicitely stated as alternative to alkaline batteries.
I'm not accustomed to Eneloops, so I can't tell the analogy.

I use Eneloops in any camera that is designed for AA bateries with no problems at all. They really last a long time between charges.

After posting my question, while eating dinner, I realized that the T90 itself could answer my question. It has a nice battery condition meter on it. Nimh batteries output 1.2V as opposed to an alkaline battery's 1.5V. In the T90, with its four batteries then the Eneloops supply 1.2V less than the alkalines will. When I loaded up a set of freshly charged Eneloops in the camera the battery meter shows all its bars, therefore the camera is fine with the lower voltage. I should be good to go with the Eneloops. My only concern will be to see how long they last. Starting at a lower voltage I may need to swap them out sooner. The plus side for the Nimh in this though is their flatter discharge curve which means they hold a higher voltage longer in their life cycle than Alkaline's do. I need to go out and shoot some film...

Thanks for the input guys, and yes, Austintaious, I really like how long the Eneloops last and am working on getting more so I can quit buying all these AAs to then just throw away.

I use the Eneloop XX battery and they work fantastically well in all my cameras. Some of them (12) are in my A1 with MA power winder and they have been in from Nov. 2013 and I go through 3rls a week and they still wind very fast. One of the best batteries I have ever used, Except maybe for the Duracell 2450 mAh. Been in my EOS 3 camera for a long time. Used weekly and still working fine. Still 3 bars as of today. Use any of the 2 brands and you will not want to use anything else.

I have been using NiCd and NiMh batteries in cameras and flashes since 1978 with no problems. Occasionally you will
get a brand of battery with a positive terminal of odd-ball size that doesn't mate too well with the terminal in the battery compartment.

It's a moot point now as NiCd batteries are getting hard to find and they have that annoying memory problem, but, I believe that they
could provide a higher discharge current which could be useful for flashes to get faster recycling times. I don't have any NiCd's left to
do comparison tests. I remember testing groups of NiCd batteries in the late 80's in a Canon 300TL flash. I repeatedly charged the 300TL
and fired on full-power until the recycle times got too long - probably around the 30 second mark. The recycle time for the first 30 or so
flashes was very consistent and around the 6-7 second timeframe. The batteries were quite hot at the end of each test as is to be expected.
