Hello from Vienna!

This is my first post, the forum seems really interesting.

Also I have a question I guess and hope you can help with!

I got a working Canon P and recently bought some nice lenses (serenar 50 1.8 and 35 3.2 with finder) that included another Canon P body in the set.
So now I own two Canon P Bodies.

Sadly the latter one came to me with a problem. You can wind on, but than its not possible to fire the shutter via the shutter release button as it is locked as if it is not fully cocked. It IS however possible to fire the shutter when turning the collar around the shutter release to the rewind position. So the shutter mechanism does seem to work.

I then unscrewed the baseplates of both bodies and found a difference, see the attachement. The first photo is from the working body, the second one differs in that it cannot be wound far enough so that the long arm (see pointer) can engage with the round plate's tooth (sorry for the bad english).

I guess it should be easy to fix, but I haven't been successful so far.

Would appreciate any help, thanks!

Emil

Always nice to meet a fellow countryman abroad, especially from the same city!

Unfortunately I can't give you any advice on your problem, but I know the repair shops in Vienna if you need a tip.

thanks for the reply! Which repair shop would you recommend for vintage stuff? Camera 31?
