I have a new F-1 that occasionally the mirror is sticky going up and it doesn't go all the way to the top of the mirror box when the shutter button is pushed, it stops about 1/8" short and results in overexposure and uneven exposure of the frame. Of course it's not consistent, some frames it works perfectly and others result in slow shutter speeds.

Is there anything I can do to fix it, and if it does need a CLA, where in Canada would I send it? I don't think Canon Canada services cameras this old anymore.

Your camera is more than thirty years old, and it's one of best 35 mm S.L.Rs ever manufactured , if you are serious about your photography it's worth spending the money to have it serviced you will find in the long run a worthwhile investment.
I'm in the U.K, I don't know who in Canada can service it , but there must be several independent repairers in your country who can.
I hope some Canadian member of this forum can point you in the right direction.
