Canon LTM L-bracket - what model(s) does it fit?

I recently acquired a very nicely made L-bracket with its (old and somewhat decrepit) zip leather case. The name "Canon" is in the old-style 1950's font and the mounting stud is offset to the side so I figured it's for one of more Canon rangefinders. It doesn't fit either my P or my L2 - both camera bodies are too thick for the opening.

Does anybody know what model(s) will work with this lovely piece of kit?

From another forum I learned of this site:

It appears I have what he refers to as "Camera Holder 2". It's missing the steel foot, but is fully usable on the appropriate camera (not the ones I have) with shorter focal lengths where balance won't be an issue. Apparently it's for some or all of the earlier Barnack-copy (bottom-loading) Canon rangefinders.

I have one, acquired in a kit of bodies lenses and accessories, with a IVSb. I do not know if it fits earlier bodies. I've never used mine. I think its purpose was to move the tripod mounting point from the bottom end of the body to a center, balanced point.
