I am interested in using my Canon IV. I was given this in the 70s by my grandmother. She got it from her brother but an Instamatic was more her speed. Her brother was an engineer and bought it to take to a job in Turkey. I used it for a high school photography class. I just exposed a roll of test shots and various shutter speeds to see at least roughly how well the shutter is working.
Everything has a nice leather case and I have the original leather bag too. But it all needs a good cleaning.
Nice so get using.
I have a canon barnack, its in pieces as I try and replace the curtains. I have a few from later in the fifties they work well, nicely built camera.
Shine a light into the 50 f1.8, a lot have developed issues with the center lens hazing up.
Had a Canon IVsb and it was a great camera. Better features than comparable Leica LTM bodies and the build quality seems just as good.
Youxin Ye did a great job when it needed a CLA and new shutter curtains, and for a very fair price.
A quick update: I got the model wrong. According to all the criteria this is a IIIA. I will post pics. I am still sending out my film to be developed. I have a roll of XP2 Super to take to the lab. The turn around will be quick since it is C-41 processed. I will get them to scan it as well. I am using these test rolls for multiple purposes including comparing my scanning to what the lab can do. So hand in there. Pics will come. I used both lenses so that should be interesting as well.
