canon flash problems??

can anyone out there answer a problem i am having with a flash unit. i have an achiever 260 flash unit which works perfectly for what i need on my rebel
G and rebel GII. i recently acquired a rebel T2 body and the flash will not do anything on this body? are the older flashes compatible with the newer bodys. i thought that it should atleast fire in manual?? thank you for your time and trouble. mike c

I'm pretty sure the T2 is a E-TTL only body, which means it needs an EX series or other E-TTL flash to work.

Don't see why it wouldn't work in manual, the Rebel XT (Digital version) will trigger my old 430EZ in manual mode.
