Anyone opened up the FL 100mm? Most FLs are stupid-easy to service - remove some rings and elements just drop out, right down to both sides of the aperture. Not so the 100.

I got a sort of garage-sale fine, $15. It's got a lot of dust and the blades are wet with oil, like to get in there and clean it. So far, front comes off with a spanner (vs the rubber stopper tool of most FLs, this has spanner slots), element drops out; rear opens up similarly, focus assembly slides off, couple spring-style c-clip retainers and the aperture ring is off. Deeper elements that block the aperture? I have no clue.

What's left is a big plastic assembly (hey, where's my damn FL metal??) with a couple tiny screws that don't seem to loosen anything. Haven't pulled auto-aperture springs and levers…

(Don't tell the mods, but this lens looks freaking gorgeous for 4K video. Not for everything, but wide open it's sort of like using some amazing, mild diffusion filter, lots of soft glow but eyes and details stay crisp. I could see using the heck out of it. Yeah, I'm smitten).

Better to post this in the 35mm thread? Thanks anyone.

I have one of the 100/3.5 focusing heads that gets screwed into the focusing adapter RB. Same glass as the FL but it must have different construction as your description doesn't match my routine.
