Just got this lens from KEH and when it passes 50mm there's a slight click and a bit of resistance in the zoom mechanism. Is this abnormal for this lens?

Well, this is strange. The replacement lens from KEH had even worse problems - it's focus was way off. It could not reach infinity and when I focused on an object about 3 feet away, the lens scale indicated it was about 7.5 feet away! Another return.

Even though the scale is way off and is a cause for a return, the lens' minimum focusing distance is 5 feet.
