Canon FD 100 2 Lens Question

I'm thinking of buying a FD 100 2 lens for my T-90 camera. I used to have a Super Canomatic R 100 2 lens and it was sharp as a razor even wide open. Does anyone know if these are optically the same lens?

They are optically very similar in design only the the FD 100mm f2 is multi-coated and is also razor sharp , I've used one for more than 20 years and can highly recommend it.http://www.fdreview.com/lens-review.php?itemid=76
