I had a similar issue with my EOS3, in my case it happened at high speeds ( >1/2000 ) and disappeared somewhat when I exercised the shutter a bit...
It looks very similar to the T90 issue (mine is dead, displayed on a shelf and useless except as a paperweight). for the T90, I had a pro change the shutter once, and the second time, I've got a different advisen, and the guy told me the issue lies in sticky magnets.
I sold my EOS3 for a small amount due to this issue, and the owner seemed happy, but I don't know if he was able to fix the issue.
