Canon EOS-1n focusing points

Happy New Year everybody.

I want to make the five focusing points disappear from the viewing area of my EOS-1n camera. I changed the screen to Ec-D (grid), but the focusing points are still there. It seems they are not linked to focusing screens and will still show anyhow!:confused: Anyone can help?

You're talking about the focus points lighting up, right? Is there a custom function that turns them off?

I've just had a look at mine, and it seems the focus boxes are etched into the prism itself.
It looks like you can't get rid of them...

Dear Lee, I've turned off the red lights long ago. ben-s got me right and it seems that there is no way around it.
