DESCRIPTION: Canon Canonet QL17 G-III Rangefinder Camera 40/1.7 Lens. Front cap also included. Battery not included. As shown.

CONDITION: Camera is in excellent condition cosmetically. Lens is very nice with no scratches, fungus or haze. Rangefinder is clear and working. Center focus spot may be a little faint, but I’m not sure if this is normal for this model or not. Anyway, I was able to focus. I put a 625 battery in the camera and the meter did react to different light conditions. Battery check light works. However, the shutter is not firing. I opened the camera door up, as if to load film, then close it and wind the film advance. But the shutter won’t fire. The shutter button goes down but no shutter. Open the camera again, close it, advance lever and still no shutter. The camera was purchased from an estate and has not been used in a while, so the shutter will need some lube or something. Also the door/light seals are toast and will need replaced. With a little TLC this would be a nice little rangefinder.

PRICE: $ 48

SHIPPING: Price includes shipping. USA shipping only. Hawaii and Alaska could be a little more. Shipping is thru the USPS only and will include tracking and insurance.

PAYPAL & MONEY ORDERS ACCEPTED. If paying by paypal, send me a PM with the email address you use for paypal. I will then send you an invoice thru paypal. I will only ship to “confirmed” paypal accounts within the USA. If your account is not confirmed I will deny payment.

FYI: I have 100% positive feedback as a seller on ebay. If you want to check my reputation, let me know. MONEY ALWAYS REFUNDED IF NOT SATISFIED.

1-3% of my net sales here are donated to the site. I truly appreciate the venue they provide us.

I just found one of these in a thrift store last week and thought it had shutter problems too at first. Turns out that the shutter won't fire when the light meter is over/under exposed. After I took it outdoors to test in brighter light, the shutter started working. Maybe that's the problem?

I just tried your suggestion...Shutter still isn't firing...Thank you though.

I'm guessing oil on the shutter blades. I had one that behaved this way and that was it. Flushed with Ronsonol and blotted it out with Kimwipes and cotton swabs. Let the Ronsonol evaporate and the shutter blades should be free again. The Ronsonol is enough to hold them closed! They're fairly easy to disassemble and Google will bring up some photo guides to help with disassembly.

Thanks for the info...

...Thought I had it priced reasonable...I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet...Guess I'm priced too high because of the shutter condition, so I'll lower it to $39 Shipped.

I repaired one of these. Very complicated shutter/lens assembly. Mine had a rotten battery wire.
