Hi guys, I’m having a hard time finding a replacement focusing screen for my canon A-1. Those for the specific camera are rarely for sale and when they are they go for crazy money. Someone a long time ago on this very forum (here: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/canon-ae-1p-focusing-screens-on-a-1.90654/) said he was able to modify the screen of a AE-1 Program (which is much cheaper) to fit his a-1, even gaining one stop of light during focusing if Laser Matte Screen is used and most importantly without any exposure compensation needed. Does any of you have any experience in doing so? Is it a viable option? I can't find ant other info online. Any help would be much appreciated!
