Canon 35mm f2 LTM

The lens looks used (just wear no dents) but produces great images on both film and digital (very good with sony a7! )
Glass is good, no haze, no scratches, no fungus only 2 or 3 light cleaning marks and some coating degradation on the corner of the front element.
All of this is cosmetic and have no influence on IQ which is great! Very sharp lens.
Focus is even aperture clicks solid. Some wear on aperture blades but there is no oil.

The lens comes with metal canon rear cap and third party front cap.

Ive no vesting interest in this offer, merely the same lens (in type I or II) in brick or web shops runs 300 to 450 GBP in UK, depending on condition, but not seen a perfect one for sale for a while.

They are tracking Leitz lens prices, if you can get one cheaper well and good.

A Cosina single coated 35mm /1.4 is similar in £ and a modern lens but not LTM, think collectors are inflating the old Canons, as well as D camera adapters, life is hard if you want an all Canon kit.

Note oil on aperture blades is good on a rangefinder lens as long as it is not fogging the glass, the blades can gall if left dry.

As a side-note, this is the rare version with the black aperture ring. These could only (according to one of my sources) be added on to factory ordered black paint bodies, which of course, are quite rare themselves. So, quite a rare piece and therefore a good price especially with clean optics.

I'd love to pick this up at this price but school is costly.

I think the black aperture ring is fairly common on these 35/2 lenses. The one I had was the same. And I think this is a fair price. I'm tempted myself.

FIY there is a type I and type II distinguish by serial and nameplate text. Not detected any performance difference though, think the 2nd group is larger in diameter.

I think the price is good. I'm tempted as well, but I have so many 35's at the moment. For someone looking to get a 35 cron substitute (and I don't say that lightly), this is something to pounce on. Really.

Amazing this hasn't sold. I think I notice a downturn in the LTM market quite recently. That could be good or bad, depending on your situation.
Still, $400 for the Canon 35/2 in great shape is a good deal. This lens really does compare favorably with the Leitz counterpart of similar vintage. I've read that the Japanese were stiff competition for Leitz during the 50's.

You could try it on DPUG as most of the canon LTMs live on adapters on D cameras.
