Canon 3000N and strange noise with low voltage battery

Hello

just this evening i put my hands on a canon 3000n and when i put 2 low voltage battery Cr123a at 2.5v the camera do that noise:


it's not very lound in the video, you need to put headphones and audio quite high to hear it, but live it's more loud.

i have a canon 300v and when the battery is low voltage and the camera don't even power on the camera don't make any noise at all !

is that normal or not ?

tomorrow i will test the camera using a new battery.
 
with new battery just worked fine.

but is normal on that camera that when you do focus the center point I chose for focusing doesn't turn red like on more modern DSLRs and even on the 300v ?

I only hear the sound of the focus and it actually focuses, then I see a green dot that lights up at the bottom where the shutter speed information is.
 
According to this manual the point should light up.

the only indicator at the bottom here that indicates focus ? that is the only one that show a signal

I'm used to the focus point square also turning red, but maybe that doesn't happen with this model, on mine don't happen and i want to understand if is fine or not
 
Unless the user manual specifically indicates that the AF points light up on focus confirmation, it should not be assumed they do.
Keep in mind that the EOS3000 is an entry-level amateur camera that .ay not have all the features of the more sophisticated cameras (although it's a capable camera alright).

As long as the camera focuses OK and otherwise works well I would not worry about it.
 

yes now i read and looks like it should but chat gpt say that was a default just on the manual but will not be red the focus point.

Where does it say in the manual that when using autofocus, the focus point indicator in the main window will light up on AF confirmation?

i only see the dot on the window where are show aperture and shutter speed.

i never see the focus pint square be red as on any modern DSLR.

There's a subtle issue going on here.
The AF points in the viewfinder have no red LED illumination. However, they can 'flash', i.e. flicker or turn on/off - i.e. the black squares can appear/disappear. This is what's indicated in the snippet of the manual I posted above.

So yes, it's normal you don't see the AF points illuminate red, but they should respond to certain AF actions, such as manual selection of the AF points and focus confirmation under certain circumstances.

Anyway, overall it sounds to me your camera is working fine.
 
Yeah, as long as you have an indicator you should be good. Check that shutter's high speeds, that could be a bigger issue...
