OK, so I'm probably demanding a lot of my Canon 1NRS but I'm a bit surprised at the AF focus when it comes to indoors and tungsten lighting. It misses shots often unless there is a lot of bright light and, for my usage, this doesn't work. The tough part is that it doesn't just say "no, it's out of focus and I won't let the shutter go." Instead, it'll think it has focus and still take the shot and I'll get the negs/scans back and find a few images out of focus. Also, backlit situations too. These are all still subject situations, which bothers me as this is where it should be nailing focus. I hate to admit it but the Nikon N90S I had (And traded away or something) was much better in this regard.
Maybe I'm a bit too used to all the new AF technology that's out now but ... I love the look I'm getting from film and do enjoy the results (when it's in focus!!). I'm able to nail focus even in these dark situations with my Leica M6 and now that I think about it... that may be a path I go entirely and leaving Canon film behind (or alternatively, switching out to a Canon Elan IIe due to the infrared beam built in).
I am curious if anyone else has run into these issues with this camera? Is there a way to remedy it?
