Canon 1N/ 1V shutter parts

I have a 1N body. I'm just thinking ahead for the future of the parts for this camera. I noticed a lot of parts from the 1N carried over to the 1V. What I'm wondering is if a person can install the 1V shutter into a 1N? I know the 1V shutter is rated higher then the 1N, so it is a different part, but it makes me wonder if a 1V shutter could still be used. Anyone do this? Im told Canon Canada still has lots of shutters for the 1N, but who knows 5 years from now. The 1N has about 1 to 2 years left for the 7 year period Canon has to keep parts for these cameras. They told me a 1N shutter is around $150 bucks. I seem to remember the 1N shutter was rated to 100,000 actuations, while the 1V I think was 250,000. Correct me if Im wrong.

Just for reference the 1N shutter unit is part number CG1-3707-000 and the 1V unit is CG1-3034-070. I included a jpeg of the two units here to look at. This is from the parts manual for these two cameras.

I'm probably worrying too much over all of this, but its nice to be prepared. I may just run it for a couple years and then debate to replace the shutter.

I have still be able to get shutter parts from independant repair shops for my old Minolta 7000 cameras, and it is over 20 years old, I don't know that I would be quite worried about the 1N or the 1V at this time..

Note the reason why Im asking is the camera I just got used is from 1994 or 12 years old. I did the math on 12 years of film. 2777 rolls of 36 or 232 rolls per year. If a pro had used this camera it could easily got close to that. Does the 1N have the ability to send in to a Canon repair outlet and see how many rolls/ shots have been taken on it since new?

Not that I know of, my self personally as cheap as most film cameras are going for, even in the pro ranks, I would not worry about it, I would just pick another one up if this one goes bad, I am sure you will pay more to repair it, than you would to pick another camera up, and most of the time, the shutter MTBD is conservativly rated, I have two 9xi Minoltas that I know for a fact have over a 1/4 million shutter actuations and they both are still going strong, but again, no, I don't believe they have an internal counter...shoot it until it breaks and get another, they really are a dime a dozen...

I did this math recently before buying another (digi) SLR and my last main camera got around 20,000 clicks/year. It's had one new shutter.

My previous #1 squeeze, my Contax G, ran about 3 rolls a week or 5,000 shots/year at peak. I still use it and expect I'll be having fake tri-x illegally smuggled-in from Bolivia well before the shutter needs replacing - even at that rate, I figure it has another 20 years or more of good times in it.

But nothing -- nothing -- lasts forever.
