I have the same issue with a Nikon F6 noted in this Reddit thread from a year ago that ultimately didn't have a resolution:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogComm...le_to_change_nikon_f6_shooting_data_settings/

I'm using a Nikon F6 where I cannot:
  • change the shooting data information saved from Basic to Detailed; I can get to this screen but cannot change the setting
  • erase the existing shooting data – even after selecting erase, I can still view all roll data via the Info button
  • change the number of the film roll used to store the shooting data
The internal battery that stores date/time seems to work – I got the camera without batteries and that clock had retained its information.

For comparison, I have another F6 where I can change the shooting data settings – I prefer Detailed – but its internal clock has reset when I've removed the batteries.

Has anyone else experienced this with their Nikon F6? Have you been able to solve it?

Have you tried removing the main camera batteries and placing a contact across the memory battery terminals? (remove the memory battery first, of course)

This might reset the device.
