Can you use the Bronica S2a CC Extension ring on it's own?

Hi All,

I acquired a Bronica S2a some time ago which also came with the CC extension ring. Having read the manual it sounds like you need the CA ring to mount the CC ring. Is this correct or can the CC ring be used on it's own?
