Are they the same?

I found an OM-2 cheap, everything works, the prism has a bit fungus below the black layer on the back, I could probably dig it up and clean, but won't do it, at least not until I get a replacement...

There is a working OM-40 on an auction along with a lens I'd like to try, so I'm thinking maybe get it, keep the lens and swap the prisms...

The prism from OM-2 is currently sunbathing on my window... 🙂 The viewfinder is usable as is, but I just don't feel like keeping the infected prism in the same cupboard as my healthy equipment...

Thanks

I think the OM10 might possibly work as well. I know the OM10 prism fits the OM1 for sure, as I have traded them out.

I don't know if the prism changed between the OM1 and the OM2.

Thanks, I'll keep my eye on any of these. The other person on the auction site wanted it more than me, so I'll wait a bit. A disfunctional piece with a good prism will come sooner or later...

Are you sure it is fungus? For the OM-1, at least, the foam on top of the prism could disintegrate and damage the silvering on the prism.

Yes. Every OM-1 I've seen has foam over the prism, which disintegrates into tar which damages the prism's silvering. I've moved prisms from several junk OM-10s into these OM-1s.
