My Nikon F5 consistently underexpose for flash in TTL. I used to have only the Metz 60-CT4 with the SCA-3402 module and I thought it was the Metz faults. I have sent it to Nikon for adjustments back in 2003 twice and it came back even a little worse. Now that I have 3 SB-800 and a SB-900 I can tell the camera under expose with all the flashes. I can set the compensation on the flash but I wonder if someone can make the adjustment?

I'm not a Nikon F5 user , so just speculating here .
Could it be the metering choice that's your issue ?
Matrix metering v's centre weighted etc ?

Metering choice does affect the exposure but overall it still underexposes by about 1 stop or a little more.
