Can i use a magnifier instead of a focus finder

Hi!Can u help me, i dont remember but i used sometimes an enlarger and now i cannot remember if its the same thing.

I used always a focus finder but i was wndering if using a magnifier has the same effect on enlargement? I mean can i use a magnifier instead of a focus finder?
