I'm using a 'hybrid' process for developing my colour negative film.

For the developer, I use Fuji-Hunt colour negative developer originally meant for machine processing. But all the other chems which follow (stop bath, bleach, and fix) are DIY from modified ORWO chemicals. Results are OK, though there may be variations from what the legit processes will do, but I don't really mind or care. For instance, the fixer is ordinary neutral 30% thiosulphate solution, and fixing takes about 6-8 minutes.

My concern is, can it still be called, in a generic sense, C41? For instance, Fuji's CN-16 is a C41 equivalent, but can Fuji's be called C41 as well?

Why worry? The developer is the main issue.

You'll notice both Fuji and Kodak have different chemicals aimed at different machines. Rapid. Low wash. whatever. If you really care some some test strips in both real C-41 and your process and compare.

See their website (fujihunt.com) and you will find the designation C-41 everywhere in their headlines (though not in the products names themselves).

By the way, Fuji Hunt (or Fujifilm Europe as they call themselves here by now) have released a new lowest throughput chemistry line.
