Can I build a camera with Anamorphic LOMO 35 HAU2 3M 56/2 f-80/100 Projection Lens

I bought to use with a camera but soviet lens is so heavy , it makes taking images are so difficult. Its a projection lens and I read somewhere it is afocal means it doesnt focus anything - IF I AM CORRECT - I thought may be it cast images on to glass viewing glass or so ? Does it work in that fashion ?

Anamorphic means this is a lens designed for changing aspect ratios. It would result in a stretched image.

As @loccdor says, it's anamorphic, so you'll get either a stretched or compressed image. If you mount it to a digital camera, you can correct this in post-processing and obtain a normal image. With film, you could scan it and then correct it. Or try to print it with an anamorphic lens to correct the image. Or simply embrace the distortion as a special effect.

As to focusing, if you mount it on some kind of helicoid or a bellows, you should be able to focus it. I'm not sure what usable focus range it has before things start to get really weird.

Hello Koraks , yes I still got it and keep in the drawer. Yes , it is extremelly efficient way to take panoramic pictures and it is wonderful. I think I should find a tight cuff to fix the lens on to tripod but my tripod is weak manfrotto.

I asked gpt and it says it focuses 8-11 cm distance , around 40mm circle image.

Yes I do reverse with software
