Have had a Bronica S2 for a short time. Difficult to find lens info (and other info) on this old Bronica series. That's why this place is invaluable for the knowledge reservoir here. I just noticed that the helicoid of my Bronica S2 is threaded on the inside. Does this mean it can accept some screw-in type lenses? If so, does anyone know the size of that threaded opening on the S2/S2A?... IE: what "mount size" lenses to look for? If this is not the case, is there an adapter that screws in there to mount older lenses or something like that? Has to be threaded for a reason.

The internal thread is 57mm (probably x0.75) and is used by the stock extension tubes. It is also possible to adapt various lenses to the camera by using the internal 57mm thread.

You can get adapters for Copal shutters on ebay. I have one for Copal 1 I think (might be 0). At any rate, enlarger lenses will fit it. If you combine the adapters with the extensions you can use a lot of different lenses. Keep in mind though that the shortest lens you can use might be around 100 or so and still make infinity. I can't remember off hand. I know I put a 127 on mine once.

If you plan on doing close ups though you are better off with the bellows. I have a bellows that doesn't fit my EC-TL (just the S2) if you are interested.

I've used a 127mm Tominon mounted to a bayonet mount body cap.
The factory extension tube set is very useful as combinations of different tube lengths and the focusing helical enable the use of various shuttered and barrel lens.
I've used 6" Heliar and 10" Graflex lenses via threaded plastic adapters made on a lathe.

57 x 1mm, actually.
