My canon Demi S, I take forever to finish half frame rolls and I don't really like the grainier enlargements as much now. So I just don't load it or bring it out. Also any of my automatic slr cameras, they just don't feel good and are a bit to large, and I don't have any really amazing autofocus lenses. My nikon f3s, I haven't used them in half a year, been sticking to my rangefinders and my OM gear for size and weight.

I have..well, too many.
I have an affinity for old TLR's, folders, and box cameras.
While I try to shoot with as many as I can, I only shoot with a couple of my box cameras (for fun), and out of 30 or so TLR's, I only shoot with about 5.
I've finally narrowed down my folders to 4 that I really like to shoot with and love the pictures from.
I started with "I want it all and I want it NOW." I am now limiting my focus a somewhat smaller collection of, "I really like this camera" and users. I plan on reducing to about 25 or 30 cameras that I feel I can't do without.
Look out eBAY.

Oh, all Right, splitting hairs (lol): the F2A has had one 36 exposure roll of film fed into it its last outing at Cathedral Grove in October 2013 (a roll of Ektar 100 ((at the suggestion of one John L)) which disclosed that the SQ either has a case of shutter bounce or else the attached MD2-MB1 is suffering from a case of the dreaded quacks (i.e. the plastic drive gear is about ready to give up the ghost). Currently, said SQ is packed in a box, along with its MD and a 1977 F2 body...ready to make the trip across the pond to Sover (said box has been ready to go since late June...work has kept me too busy (and too lazy?) to make the trek over to the post office to send the parcel to Saint Sover...

Insofar as my original F2, and first ever Nikon (1979 F2AS black body) goes, I am undecided. Cosmetically, the poor beast looks awful. Yet its shutter and meter were still accurate enough to correctly expose my last roll of PKM almost four years ago. I am sure with Soverization the body could be returned to active duty...but with a host of other Nikons to shoot, I am hesitant...

^fixed the date for you...

Just do it. You know you want to... So, grab a CR 1/3N, maybe this time pop the O/C key in the baseplate to isolate any issues the camera has with it from the motor drive, and load it up. Then, once the film is processed, if everything looks good, then, maybe hold off on sending it in until later. It can be pressed into duty as a car camera. Pop a 50 on it, like the 50/2 AI I sent you with the F3, and store it under your passenger seat.

If it has issues, then, put it in the next box to go over after the 80xxxxx F2A goes over.

With respect to boxes headed to Mr. Wong, I still have a medium flat-rate box containing three F2AS bodies, a Zeiss Dataphot (yes, for F2), and a couple DW-2 finders waiting to be sent off. One of the F2AS bodies belongs to Ralph. Another is mine - noticed that the advance lever was a little loose, plus the DP-12 that was originally mated to it needs to have the ring resistor replaced as preventative maintenance, and the LED block replaced, so the "o" lights up again. The third is a chrome body that Sover bought, then had sent to my place. Sending it along with an overhauled DP-12 that I had from a previous F2AS. Using that finder as partial payment for the meter service on my finder.

Egad! have I become a sappy, senitmental collector?

I hate to admit it...I have a few 35mm bodies and lenses that seldom leave the house anymore.

There's a well used Pentax KX that I bought brand new in 1977...and an old spotmatic that I have had for a long time too.

Both get admired more than used. It didn't used to be this way.

most of my belovedfilm cameras sit in a glass display cabinet. This house is looking more and more like a photography museumbut I like looking at them. sometimes I take them out and sniff them to make sure they still love me. I'm sick and seriously warpedbut happy:tongue:
