We are going up to Wilmington today to take the kids to hemiotology appointments and Faith says she wants a flash for her EOS 630. I do some checking to see what's compatable with her camera and come up with a list of a Canon, a Metz and three different Sunpaks. I call Cameras Etc. (1-302-453-9400) on the road this morning and (just as there's a reason that I'm the one selling auto parts and not putting them on) they don't carry any of what I came up with. Thought for sure they'd have the Sunpaks. Instead they have a Promaster 5550 w/ EOS dedicated module. I say we'll be there after lunch.
When we get there, I walk up to the counter with my wife and the salesman begins to explain the intricacies of this flash and how it will work in tandem with her camera and seeing that she is in good hands, it frees me up to peruse the darkroom stock they have on the showroom floor and I pick up a couple of bottles of Kodak indicator bath for my burgeoning darkroom.
I love this store. Everyone there either works for or has a professional photography business of their own. They have darkroom supplies ON DISPLAY. This is the greatest camera store in Delaware, nay the Delmarva Peninsula and has been for 15 years and more. These stores are a dying breed but as long as there is a place like this for me to go, all will be well with the world.
P.S. Talked my wife into a newer bigger camera bag. She said I don't need a bag that's much bigger. I replied that camera bags were made for one thing and one thing only. Outgrowing.
