hmmm... for precisely the same purpose i have black electrical tape over all my logos... if we belong to the same species, one of us must be doing something wrong!

(okee, granted, it's a fairly inconsistent species)

Now you got it, John... 98% of photography figured out. Next work on composition and pre-visualization and color theory and you'll be a real photographer.

Thanks for the laugh... after yesterday I needed one!

Oh, and if you want to turn your SLR into a TLR... it's spelled R O L L I E.

jeez nedL now you are talking fancy words like "authentic"
im getting really depressed now .. i might have to get a membership(?) to
"let it go" and get rid of everything i have so i can have authenticate my stuff. i mean
how am i supposed to make meaningful ( oh snap, another one of those words )
photographs without authentic gear and a "process" that lives up to the standards
the pillars of the community .. i gotta get myself a printer to make labels
and then go to hypnosis to assure myself i am doing it all correctly... i might be a little twitchy, but
i wouldn't want to pre-visualize ( thanks for reminding me of minor white brian ! )
without emptying my mind of everything, so i am an empty vessel to allow the scene to enter my
consciousness and determind the perfect values, and exposure so i can eventually masterfully
create my own masterpiece.
i might have to be an OOber driver and then get "reprogrammed" dam this hobby is tough !

A friend of mine used to put black tape over the camera's name like those you mention and the ones with a red dot. Apparently, he used quite a lot of black tape...
So, you could do the same, and everyone would just assume that it's some fine name unfortunately hidden by the tape.

John:
I think you should add a tag with the name "Doris" to each of your cameras.

Find an old DYMO adhesive plastic label imprinter.

When I was in HS 40+ years ago I cut the Nikon logo out of a magazine ad and glued it to my Minolta. One kids' eyes nearly popped out of his head seeing I had upgraded to the fabled Nikon F...

Nah! not a paper label John.
Wander over to the local trophy shop or gift store that does engraving
and have a brass plate made. You know, like for the base of a
baseball/basketball/tennis/swimming/basket weaving/participating
for 1st graders.
Or,
Get some adhesive lettering(size is up to you, 6"?), that way you won't have that annoying white background.
I can send you some.

Regardless of what sticker you put on, someone's gonna think it's the wrong choice. What you need is a "Photographers Do It In The Dark" T-Shirt. No one can argue about your bonafides then.
