Hi Folks,

Toronto International Camera Show on Nov 22nd put on by the PHSC.

This one is at the Thornhill Community Centre. Going to see if I can pick up a lense for the Horseman.

There is a discount coupon on their site for $2 off, hope it's still valid if you print off their flyer.

btw, anyone East of the GTA ( Pickering - Oshawa) wants to go shoot (large format) someday, always could use some company. I'm in Whitby.

I plan on going, but I've said that about the last two. I walk around and look and a bunch of stuff I don't need- and sometimes I buy that stuff.

Know what you mean. I go to look for specific items but come back with a bag load of anything but the items I was looking for. The prices really drop at the end of the day too, so that doesn't help either.

Dave White and I are planning to car pool in. That way even if you resist and don't buy anything it is a great way to have time to gab. I am always on the look out for all sorts of old stuff to put on display on the shelf if I in the past once used it.

Bharat, I'm not set to shoot LF yet (still gathering bits and pieces) but I would take out my 500 C/M system for a shoot. Do you have any locations in mind (I drive regardless of distance). Cheers

Maybe we could organize a Hassey Outing if there are others too! I've got a 500C/M aswell that could use some exercise. No preference on locations - I like to dabble in everything. I'm out of town next week, but will PM you when I get back.

btw - I checked out your website - some amazing photography. Good eye!

I scored some 11x14 Forte PWT paper and a shoot-through umbrella. Kind of thin on black & white roll film, but tons of colour sheet film -- maybe next time. Liberated a dry-mount press from Mike's place on the way home, so all in all a good day.

I went looking for the guy that sold the Lucky 120 film for a buck a roll. He wasn't there. The other film there looked to be extremely outdated. Some of the boxes I saw said 1995. Some of the equipment seem quite overpriced too.

Hey - better than going to a casino. At a camera show you always know that you have the chance to loose some money, but come back with something.

I was quite restrained. Came back with a skylight filter or strap here or there for some of my mongrel cameras.
A whole slew of wratten gels to let me get the slide duper dialled in with some long frozen bulk rolls of low contrast dupe film.
Picked up a 5000K light box, so no more twisting my neck to try to read proof file pages from overhead incandesant bulbs.
And then a recessed lens board for the cambo monorail.
Oh, and a few old publications on screen printing.

All for under $50 including the admission.

We then went up the street a bit and then wandered the old David Duinlap Observatory grounds on a fine day taking different photos.
The surrounding open fields of this property have been ploughed for archelogical clearing, so there will be houses going up on the lands in another year or tow I would guess from my past job experience doing land development engineering.
