John not only repaired my erratic light meter on my Minolta XE-7, but also put in light seals, and included a few bits (screw covers, lens cover, etc.) to make my camera basically brand new. I can't wait to start shooting with it. It really feels like no other SLR I've held. I appreciate his above and beyond work approach!

Awesome.

I haven't been able to reach him via email - has his address changed recently?

This is a worldwide forum, the O.P doesn't mention even what continent this camera repairer is in

I think this is the guy that happens to be about 30 minutes from me, in Kansas City, Kansas. I know for a fact that he won't work on Canon EF bodies... but that's another story altogether.

A geocities website, and an aol email.

Clearly, he at least was a pioneer

from what I understand, John's been repairing cameras for a long time. The quantity of good camera repairmen continues to dwindle. Let's keep the good ones in business.

I finally connected with John - my spam filter wasn't letting his replies to my messages through!! I sent him my XD-11 today for a CLA - he has been around for a long time and has a good reputation.

Let us know how you do, from what I've read he doesn't do XKs
