When I put the flashbar in my sx-70 camera, the shutter does not trigger. Any advice? The flashbar is new, and the first side worked great.

On the flashbar there is only one freedback contact: the wider patch closes a circuit within the camera, indicating that a flash is mounted and thus the exposure (algorithm) has to be set at the flash mode.
I do not see how this instead could lead to the shutter not working at all.
Could mechanichal stress at inserting the bar induce a failure at the shutter (circuit) to be of effect?
