Its that time of the year again - the Australian Photographic Collectors Society Market is on again on the 16th of March. Doors open 9AM - entry is $5. More details at http://www.apcsociety.com.au/market.html

I don't intend to have a table this time, but I'll probably end up helping out on one. If you haven't been before it can be a great place to pick up cheap gear - last market I picked up a Patterson Orbital processor with motor base for $10! Works great for processing 5x7 and 5x4 films.

If anyone from APUG is coming I'd be happy to meet up for a chat/coffee during the morning - pick a time..

Cheers

Andrew

I was expecting to miss this one due to a clash of dates, but that has resolved itself and I'll probably be on the door taking your $5 for the first part of the morning.

My market score:

5 French Photo magazines for $8
The Theory of Photographic Process (4th Ed) $35
No 1 A Kodak Junior Model A - Free
Brick of Ilford Ilfocolor 400 Plus $5

Five well used woven backdrops that came with three cores plus the cogs and chains all for $100. Five packets of out of date FP100C45 for $50. A Graflex (1168) grafmatic to suit my RB Auto for $25. As a last minute grab I got a non-working Pentax K1000SE for $60. A bit more than I would normally pay for a non-working camera but it is one of the early ones that had a gold sticker with "SE" on it rather than engraving. The 55/2 on it was in reasonable nick too, and they're uncommon if not particularly special. The backdrops were bought more for the cores and cogs than anything as they were dirty and worn, but I might have a go at painting on them to recreate the late 19th century style of Trompe L'oeil background you see in studio portraits.

I picked up a Nikon 35-70mm 3.5 lens. I've never been to one of these things before and was surprised at how just many stalls there were.

Great day, picked up a Nikonos V in really good nick.

Saw a Topcor RE Super with 85/1.4 for $195 I really wanted, didn't have cash at the time and the guys are from Brisbane. Damn.

at least, that's what you call those magazines when the missus discovers them?

None of us are that wound up. They're coffee table books along with Early Erotic Photography.
