Before you complain about my ethics please see Matthew 5:3 ...
I've been using mouse mat and double sided pressure tape and rubber cement since 1990.
I could have typed up my process or referenced Jon's, I'm on a small smart phone with quaint kearberd...
Lots of mouse mat is good quality foam.

Maybe you misunderstood my point, Noel. If stuff gets put on the open internet then they totally loose control and any usage is "ethical"... Whatever that means. Except maybe completely ripping off the author by, say, plagerizing.

I don't use mousepad but virgin craft foam. Less cutting and performs better In my experience.

Matt is a buddy of mine. Are you sure you picked his best quote for this conversation. He wasn't talking about poor In terms of financial poverty. Ha ha. But I think I understand your intent.

Hi Brian

I was intending to rub salt into several other people's wounds.
Jon has copyright protection to his text.
And his kits are good quality.
But the OP is a kid.
Yes the foam eg sold for noise reduction in autos etc is good quality pull off sticky backed etc. but I've got a drawer full of mouse mats with promotions on them, repurposing them as mirror bumpers is good, for the planet?

Noel

Jon puts his instructions on the internet so that individuals can learn from and potentially use them.

Jon makes up custom pre-cut kits that work perfectly with his instructions.

Jon gets royally pissed off when others prepare and sell their own kits (often with sub-standard materials) and include his instructions, passing them off as their own.

There would be nothing unethical about the OP reading and using the instructions Jon posts on the internet.
