I just recently acquired a Kelty Redwing backpack to use with my camera gear while hiking and was curious if anyone had any recommendations for inserts that could hold 4x5 or medium format gear in. Thanks

Mine is 4x5x10 which fits my Osprey backpack. Measure your pack before you buy. The inserts allow me to vertically stack them in my pack.

Amazon and eBay have all sorts of insert bags. Just search and see what comes up. They really are handy, I found one that's a perfect sleeve for my 4x5 pressman.

I just got one of these to try out. I'm pleased (for an inexpensive item) and will order another. It's one of the few cheap ones that ship from US, so a bit faster delivery. The nylon on the bottom and sides seems water resistant so perhaps good if you have to put on damp ground. A bit small though.

Some of these inserts have padded tops (like mine), so might be better in a pack. Others, like the Amazon one in an earlier post, just have soft fabric on top. I think those might work better if you want to keep the top open for ready access.
