Earlier I shared on the forum that I had taken my Zone VI cold light head to Calumet for repair on May 11, '05 and had not heard from them about the status of the repair even after numerous calls where I was told that someone will be calling me soon, etc. I finally talked to a very nice lady who said she would find out what was going on. It turns out that a "repair authorization form" had been sent to the store months ago but was hiding in an email folder and as a result Calumet would cover the cost of the repair which restores my high opinion of Calumet.
Speaking of the repair- If you have an earlier version of the Zone V1 cold-light head (mine is for 4x5) and the bulb needs to be replaced, it needs to be done by qualified service techs because the bulb doesn't just pop into the head but has to be soldered. The bulb and repair run about $135.00 plus shipping. The bulb life is extremely long so it's worth putting a new bulb if the original one gets broken or burns out.
Just wanted to give credit to Calumet for their customer service. Now I wonder where I might spend that $150 store credit?
