Looking to buy a Calumet C1 - i see an early version for sale but as I've based my buying decision only on what i've read about the later versions (green monster/black beast?) I am trying to find out how the early versions differed from the later ones. Any info greatly appreciated.
Not all green C-1's are magnesium, some are aluminum and weigh more. All black ones are the heavier aluminum. The difference is weight, magnesium alloy weigh 14 lbs., and all others weigh 18 lbs. They need to be weighed without lens, just bare camera.

Thanks for the response. I understood from this document that prior to the green and black versions (the differences between which you have described), there was an earlier version. I am trying to establish whether there were any differences between this earlier version and the later green and black (aluminum/magnesium) versions. From the aforementioned article:
The earliest Calumets I have seen are unfinished or painted with a brown crinkle finish paint or an olive green. The Green Monster and Black Beast are more common.
