I was looking through the goodies a friend gave me a year or so ago and I noticed a Caltar-S II 210mm lens.

It's mounted on a Copal No. 1 shutter and seems to be in fine shape -- except the threads on the shutter where you'd mount it onto a camera are kind of messed up.

MAYBE I can clean up the threads enough so they'd work, but I wouldn't want to rely on them 100%

Any good ideas on how to mount this onto a camera w/o using the threads?

The tricky part is I need to still be able to operate the shutter/aperture, etc

Also...what will this lens cover?

You mean the retaining ring? Or the part the lens elment goies into? You can always use glue if it's the retaining ring -)

5x7 plus a bit. It's a Rodenstock I'm fairy sure.

lens attaches to shutter fine...

it's actually threads on the shutter...dunno if it's the retaining ring...just the threads that would hold the shutter onto the camera/lensboard

I think I can make wood blocks to hold it in place & have some kind of bracket/hoseclamp contraption

glue would be likely to seize up the aperture adjustment ring thing
