The Metropolitan Center for the Visual Arts in Rockville, Md. is calling for entries to a juried photography show to be titled 'Inside/Outside' which will open on October 19, 2006. The juror for this show will be Frank Goodyear, Assistant Curator of Photography at the National Portrait Gallery and member of the faculty at the Department of American Studies, George Washington University.
The postmark deadline for receipt of entries (slides or digital media) is Thursday, September 21, 2006. The work of entrants selected for the show will be recieved by October 16. Yes, I know this puts us on a very short fuse. Personally, I will rise to the occasion for the opportunity to be reviewed by such a prestigious juror.
Tip: Having been in shows at Visarts, I can tell you from experience that the best way to submit work to them is slides. I know it's less convenient
but the Director of Exhibitions has actually taken people out of shows there when their delivered work was not up to the quality of the digital submission. So, if you do submit digitally, make sure that your work can cash the check your submission is writing, if you know what I mean.
The hypertext link above will take you to the prospectus. Right click it to download.
Of course any photographer is welcome to enter. I've posted it here simply because that's where the show is.
Good Luck to all who enter!
